The Center for Internet and Society at Stanford Law School posted an article (here) about how the Department of Justice plans to use "techlash" (stemming from privacy scandals with social media) to ban encryption on personal devices. The EARN IT Act bill, here, seeks to make "interactive computer services" providers "earn" immunity for claims regarding child sex abuse material (CSAM) online.

The Supreme Court has recognized that data stored on smart phones can “reveal much more in combination than any isolated record,” allowing those with access to it to reconstruct “[t]he sum of an individual’s private life.” Riley v. California, 134 S. Ct. 2473 (2014).

iPadOS Beta - Shortcuts Shine in this Beta

I’m testing iPadOS on my iPad Pro 2016 with a bluetooth logitech mouse. The best thing about the mouse isn’t the cursor, but Shortcuts. Being able to assign shortcuts to right click is a game changer and makes Shortcuts incredibly useful. I recorded a video on iPadOS, converted the video to a gif and posted via Safari. iPadOS an impressive beta os and will be a big upgrade. #ipados #ios13 #ipad #ipadosbeta #ipadmouse #technology #apple #ipad #technology

The Impact of New Data Protection Laws on Local Businesses

Businesses in our community provide goods and services to consumers around the world. Our region exports light manufacturing, custom tents and structures, large format banners, satellite communications as a service, ecommerce fulfillment services, personal brand engagement services and food products, just to name a few. In the course of business, companies acquire and store personal customer data and recently enacted laws in the U.S. and the European Union will have an impact on the storage and use of these data. These new laws have a global reach and the penalties for violations are designed to be severe.
